A pretty rare ESP bass from the early 80's, this is not a reissue. Never seen another one of these in my 40+ years of playing bass. I found this model bass pictured in a 1984 ESP catalog so it's probably from around that era. Serial number 03XXX. Appears to be all original except for strap lock buttons, maybe nut, and knobs. All matching red translucent body, neck and head stock (super cool). Plays great with pretty straight neck with slight relief. I have not removed the neck and do not intend to because the neck/body joint fit like a glove and do not want to mess with it. Truss rod nut looks good and i do not think it's ever been touched. The pick guard is aluminum/metal. Has some very slight swirl marks and maybe some fine scratches in the finish but in excellent condition considering age. Some wear on the top of the fret board edge as pictured. Frets look great with hardly any noticeable wear. Some dry super glue on the back of neck near the nut where at some point looks like someone put to much glue on the nut and it ran. I think it would hard to find another one of these basses of this age in this condition. I do not have scales but probably weighs 9-9 1/2 pounds. Nut size is 1.75. I am on the fence about letting this one go but would entertain a trade for a Rickenbacker bass or other bass trades.
