There's a 'statusgraphitebassguitars' Yahoo group - might be worth asking on there.

They are quite rare - I seem to remember reading recently that no more than 30-40 have been built to date. Rob Green still builds one every once in a while. There's currently one for sale on the Status website. Reasonably priced for a custom bass.

I wrote an email asking about that, the response was that one would have to be made for me. The exchange rate and the costs of a custom order have conspired to make me a bit pensive to take the perverbial plunge. I did see the one on Yahoo, I missed the sale by a few years. The price was comparable to the price for one on ebay that I missed by a month a couple of years ago. I know nothing about the instrument first hand, I've only read the 3 reviews I've been able to dig up. I have a variety of basses that cover a wide spectrum of sounds, but I am just inexplicably drawn to the JH, not unlike an infatuation with the hostess at my favorite restaurant.

The metallic Hellborg sig that's currently available on the Status site is available for $2200.
