It dawned on me, not for the first time, today:
"I don't need another mediocre bass, I want a freakin' Fender."
So I'm looking for a Mustang Bass, my favorite Fender shape, my favorite Fender pickups, and my favorite scale (short). Basically, it's what I really like to play in a bass, but it remains tantalizingly out of my (economic) reach.
That being said, I do have some basses of value available for trade...
The first is my Aria Pro II RSB Medium-II bass. This bass is entirely stock, which includes two specially designed soapbar pickups (CTRL: V, T, 3-Way), Gotoh-style tuners, graphite nut, rounded neck heel, hi-mass bridge, and a purple Aria strap. This bass is EXTREMELY rare, being made for less than a year (1985) in the Japanese Matsumoku factory. I have only seen one other Medium-II, and it sold for about 550 dollars
The second bass I have for trade is a Fernandes Atlas 4X. This bass is equipped with a large MusicMan-style humbucker (though it is closer to the bridge than on a MusicMan). Large, elephant-ear tuners, a standard P-style bridge. The neck is somewhere between a Precision and a Jazz, not too narrow, not too thin. Just right. Maple on maple white neck, finished beautifully. Stock, except for the fact that the (noisy) series/parallel/coil-tap was replaced with an Off/On/On killswitch (also has V and T). They sell new for around 350. If anyone has a Vista Musicmaster bass, I'd do a straight trade for this...
