I started my musical life at the age of 9 with private violin lessons. In 1968 I told my dad I wanted to play guitar. He brought home a 1954 Martin 0-18. I still have it today. It looks like holy hell, but I was there for almost every scar, crack and scratch. It still plays and sounds unbelievably great.
I basically grew up playing music of some sort or another. My Dad was a professional bass player when I was born, and he continued to play any instrument with strings well into his late 70's. I started playing bass in 1974 when I was 16, and it just so happened that my Dad had a genuine 1962 Fender jazz bass and a really nice Kustom 100 amp with a 4 Ohm 2x15 cabinet. My younger brother is a awesome drummer so watch it with the fire the drummer stuff.
