I started my musical life at the age of 9 with private violin lessons. I got my 54 Martin 0-18 in 1968 when I was 10. I told my dad I wanted to play guitar and that is what he brought home and handed to me. I still have it today. It looks like holy hell, but I was there for every scar, crack and scratch. It still plays and sounds unbelievably great.
I basically grew up playing music of some sort or another. My Dad was a professional bass player when I was born, and he continued to play just about any instrument with strings well into his late 70's. I started playing bass in 1974 when I was 16, and it just so happened that my Dad had a 62 Fender jazz bass and a really nice amp...
