I started playing bass in 9th grade in 1987. I played fairly seriously throughout high school and college. A scheduling oversight on my part kept me from adding music as a double major in college, although I played in my college's orchestra and chamber orchestra for a while. I played in the pit orchestra for four years at college, and played in another local college's Jazz Ensemble for three years. My equipment has mostly collected dust since graduating from college, but every so often, I get the bug to play again. My 4th grade son has played piano for four years now and we play together sometimes. I work at a high school and we recently debuted our duet talents at my high school's talent show. He gets performance experience and I get to live vicariously through him.
