Colin Trusedell is the Musical Director for the United States Air Force Academy Band’s Top 40 ensemble Blue Steel and the adjunct Professor of Bass at Colorado State University – Pueblo. He is one of the most versatile upright and electric bass players in the United States in the field of jazz, fusion, pop and rock music. He is also an active writer, arranger, and bandleader.

Colin’s most recent full length CD, “It’s All About The Hustle,” (2015) is his third as a bandleader, which features him on the upright bass as well as his original jazz compositions. The project has been lauded nationally and internationally in DownBeat, Jazz Times, ArtistXite, and AllAboutJazz. His recent solo project, “All By Myself,” (2015) puts his own solo electric and upright bass approach to some of the most infamous jazz standards ever released. Colin’s “Quartet of Jazz Death” (2014) funk/fusion project has been critically acclaimed on NoTreble.com, TalkBass.com, Bass Musician Magazine, Bass Quarterly, Bass Player Magazine and nominated for “Best Jazz Group 2015” in the Colorado Springs Independent 2015 Indie Music Awards. Colin released “Some of My Best Friends Are…Divas,” (2013) featuring him on the upright bass with three of the best jazz singers in Colorado, which earned the rating “Best of 2013” on AllAboutJazz.com.

Colin has extensive touring experience with both the U.S. Navy Band Northeast and the U.S. Air Force Academy Band, performing nationally and internationally with appearances on NBC’s Today Show, Fox and Friends, the Montel Williams Show, and ESPN’s SportsNation. He has had the privilege to perform concerts with the Boston Pops Symphony Orchestra, Bill Watrous, Tierney Sutton, Alan Vizzutti, and Dick Oats.

Colin runs a national booking agency called MyShowsLive and runs his own record label, MyShowsLive Records. He is also the host and bass player for the "Colin Trusedell Jazz Jam," a radio program on KCMJ.org, 93.9FM, which airs every Sunday night at 8pm, MDT.

Originally from Indianapolis, Colin earned a B.M. from the University of Miami and a M.M. from Boston University.
