    Favorite Genres:
Modern classical, early classical, the rest of classical. All sorts of jazz. New wave, motown, whatever Sonic Youth does, whatever Radiohead does.

    Ibanez SRX400
    Ibanez BTB1206E
    G.A.S. List:
    -A nice, modern-ish 5-string with a bolt on neck. Maybe a Lakland or G&L.
    -110 or 112 cab for practice/house shows.
-A good bass overdrive. Maybe a Tech21 somethingorother.
    -Funny effects pedals.
    Influences and Teachers:
I haven't received formal instruction on bass, but I have received a moderate amount of formal instruction in rock, jazz, and classical guitar. My bass technique is largely informed by playing classical guitar and reading talkbass threads on bass technique.

I have studied theory at Foothill and DeAnza colleges, and have a AA in music from Cabrillo College. I studied jazz theory/improvisation at Cabrillo College.

I don't listen to a lot of technical bassists. I most like players who laid down good, solid lines with great feel, like James Jamerson. I really like Paul McCartney's lines for their melodic sense. The only technical bassist I've spent a lot of time listening to is Jaco.
    Hobbies and Interests:
    Composition, singing, guitar, cello, backpacking
