I started with music in the 5th grade with trombone, and played it up to college. Along the way I picked up tuba and baritone, so I've always enjoyed the lower tones. I bought the Ibanez starter kit in high school but really never got serious about it, playing only tabs and cover songs with friends. Good times indeed, but never properly learned how to play.

Recently (2014), I found the urge to pick up my dusty bass again after a hand full of years of not touching it, and I felt right at home.

I'm now interested in learning theory, scales, transcribing bass lines, and breaking the bad habits I've developed in the past. Also trying to convince friends to pick up their dusty instruments and start playing again so I have some jam buddies.

Lately I've been listening to a lot of motown and blues, as well as some jazz fusion. Looking for a lot of albums to sink my teeth into and learn from. Also doing a lot of reading on gear as it's definitely my weakest point when it comes to the bass world.

With all the reading I've been doing, this site has been brought up numerous times. I'm more of a lurker than a poster but I'm hoping to contribute to the community over time as I improve.
