    Location:
    Baltimore
    Current Setup:
Vincenzo Jorio, Naples, Italy, 1833. A big one to reach around. Very articulate, complex sound.

    A. Olaf Anderson duplicate of an unknown German. A hurricane of a bass.

Both have low-C extensions, an English machine and a Stenholm.

Dingwall Afterburner II 5-string. EA iAmp800/NL210
    Gigs and Ensembles:
Assoc. Prin. Bass, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra
    Previously Owned Gear:
A couple of German instruments. My first was a 5 string bought from Jack Weaver's (Wash. D.C.) in the 1970's. Both carved. The 5 string was an arched back. The 4 string German bass was from my teacher, Frank Diliberto, who generously brought it to me from Dave Horine's shop in Cincinnatti, OH. I eventually sold it to another of Frank's students. Magnificent curly maple back and sides.
    Influences and Teachers:
    Frank Diliberto

My wife (a cellist), Stan Kenton, Hank Levy, Ray Brown, the Chicago Symphony bass section of the 70's and 80's, John Clayton, Berlin Phil.
    Hobbies and Interests:
    Photography, Electronic Design
