    Location:
    Queensland, Australia
    Current Setup:
    Bass Guitars:

Ibanez SRX (a slightly odd-looking limited edition which was there and felt good)

Tanglewood electro-acoustic bass (full 34" scale, 4-string, was more expensive than i planned to spend, but feels and sounds very good)

Cort Curbow 4-string fretless (possibly my worst sounding bass, but i got it on a clearance sale and i always wanted a fretless)

    bass amp:

    Peavey 20W 10"

    non-bass guitar:

Epipone Les Paul special II and the amp that came in the pack with it

obsessive music theory tables and maths:
    Microsoft Excel
    Favorite Genres:
clasic metal, industrial, folk metal (e.g. tanzwut, Korpiklaani), prog metal (e.g. Alchemist), experimental and genre-fusion
    Gigs and Ensembles:
avid supporter of my local metal scene, front row... but never on stage
    Previously Owned Gear:
At school i was deemed "gifted" and therefore dragged to many music lessons (most of which i hated) in the hope it would "stimulate" me and prevent me playing up in class, it didn't work, but it did give me a ten-year aversion to music, which i have recently recoverred from.
    G.A.S. List:
    AN OSCILLOSCOPE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
my tuner can get stuffed, i want more precision.

a bass with adjustable frets to make any intervals between the notes possible... i doubt this exists... maybe i'll investigate a fretless

    German medievil bagpipes

    Influences and Teachers:
Orbis - small-time old-school metal band from my home city, their bass player is trying to teach me... with some success but a fair few arguements about the nature of art

Die Krupps (i really wanna play some of those synth loops on a bass)

White Zombie - i had a crush on Sean in highschool, i couldn't for the life of me distinguish the guitar from the bass, but i liked the music as a whole and she was a lot more photogenic than the guitarists.

The Dead (Brisbane, Australia) - BRING BACK THE BASS, MATE!

Judas Priest (hrmmm... i choose bass becuase i love judas preist but i know i can never match Halford, Downing, Tipton, or Travis... i think Hill i have a hope at.)

Marilyn Manson - very early stuff, now Gidget Gein, that's something i think i can manage. I could play one riff of Dope Hat recognisably - but far from well, and i seem to have forgotten it.

Tanzwut (bit low on bass lines, but figured it was worth mentioning)

    K. D. Lang
    Hobbies and Interests:
visual arts (painting, drawing, screen printing), genetic engineering, bioinformatics, sewing

    Signature

I'm no musician, i'm a scientist (genetics PhD student) and visual artist experimenting with sound (i can play 6 riffs, but my microsoft excel file of music theory is 308 kb).
