Nice score! The satin finish on the neck makes it one of my favorite necks of all the basses I own. I think the Duncan Desifgned pickups sounds pretty good. Not sure how they compare to the newer ones though.

My CV 60s Precision was listed on GC's used site as a regular Squier in Surf Green, so it may make sense to keep an eye out for inaccurately listed items. Still keeping an eye out for a Fiesta Red one at a reasonable price.

I picked up one from Reverb a couple of years ago. Bridge had been replaced with a BadAss III and it had LaBella flats on it. I figured if I didn’t care for it (the pickup is a bit hot for some tastes) I could at least part it out. Ended up keeping it the way it is. Great sounds and great neck too.

Just ordered two sets at $13.02 each.

Apologies for the slight derail, but if I were interested in getting started on mandolin, what should I be looking for in a used model to get my feet wet?

I swear they must haves made only a small amount of VM Amber Precisions. I don't think I've ever seen one in person and only a handful online. There must be a thousand of the VM Jazz basses for each one of the Precisions.

Yeah, it surprised me. They weren't terribly tight, just a little slow going. Guessing they hadn't been adjusted since the early 80s and don't seem to be made of the best metal. After I got the first one transplanted I though about taking the screw to a local hardware store and finding better...

Tuner screw question: I was transplanting tuners from a neck that was developing an unfixable split in the neck to a healthy neck. Took my time unscrewing each tuner screw only to have two of the four shear off part of the way out. Any suggestions on next steps? Looks like I may not be able to...
