    Yeah I pick pretty close to the bridge and anchor my thumb on the low e and it gets me closer to the sound also makes the strings feel tighter...

    Only problem with this is Im not sure how to eq the mids how I want. my amp has hi mid lo mid and a parametric mid.

    The model P is a maybe. I've always thought of them as quite bright. And for the pure vintage 62 I've never really liked them prefer the 63's but...

    I use GHS precision flats, nice warm sound and high tension. TI's sound good but I like high tension string and there a bit to lose.
