Male, 72, from Santa Fe, New Mexico

Bought another bass, the Ibanez TMB-100 Talman in mint green. I am very happy, I still can’t believe this is a $200 instrument. Jan 22, 2018

I got the Ibanez Aerium, 5 string fretless, a couple weeks ago and I love it. Just put La Bella tapewounds on it and I like the sound& feel.

    Current Setup:
Arriving TOMORROW! Ibanez Aerium SRH505F 5 string fretless. A Roland practice bass amp, Vox Bass headphone amp, Gator ProGo Bass case and a couple other items.
    Favorite Genres:
Jazz, Jazz Fusion, Experimental, Classical- Baroque, Renaissance, Medieval.
    Gigs and Ensembles:
Playing flute alone but making some connections. I'll be learning bass pretty much from the beginning though I've had several basses since the early '70s, my 1st was a Fender Precision but had to sell when I needed cash, bet you've never heard that story before! Same story with flutes. Started playing clarinet at 13, also alto clarinet. I have another, actually two, flutes and now I'll have another bass and this time I'm really going to learn how to play it! ...also a little keyboard. My goal is to create original work and perform in small, quiet settings.
    Previously Owned Gear:
Fender Precision and several cheap basses. A couple used amps, nothing special. Numerous woodwinds. Roland RD-300SX digital piano. Geminheardt open-hole flute (Intermediate level).
    G.A.S. List:
Digital percussion set up. Mic and amp for my flute. Recording equipment, MIDI electronics, you know, everything I'd need to record my own music!
    Influences and Teachers:
I haven't studied with anyone, except my junior and high school band teacher. I have been influenced by every musician that I've ever heard! From Bach, Mozart, Albinoni and Jaco to Esperanza Spaulding, Regina Spektor, Tom Waits, Zander Zon, John Zorn, Herbie Mann and Alain Caron...
    Hobbies and Interests:
Art of many sorts, digital painting, polymer clay creations, wire wrapping and metal embossing. Stone carving. I can't do much anymore though, too physically difficult. I'm sure I will continue making thing/art but I will be focusing mostly on studying/playing music.
My undying curiosity keeps me going!
