Started off playing drums when I was about 9 and played for about 10 years or so.
Then one day, while listening to Led Zeppelin's "lemon song", hearing Jonesy's bass was the turning point for me.

I've been playing bass going on 16 years and totally enjoy it. I used to play busy lines when I was younger but now am content playing simpler, groove oriented bass lines.

Those years of playing drums has really helped me to become a pocket player. To me there's nothing like locking in with the drummer and driving the band.

For years I played long scales and even a 35" scale Modulus Q4 (awesome bass BTW). Then, after getting married, I decided to take a break from playing. After about an 8 yr break, I realized I missed playing and I was once again shopping for a bass.

A friend of mine who is a guitar player that sometimes doubles on bass ( a short scale bass, coincidently) told me about short scales. So, after a lot of research on Talkbass, I decided on the Jaguar ss basses and am quite happy playing short scales.:bassist:
