    Current Setup:
    Custom bass with EMG pickups. I use a Samson 1200 power amp fed by a Behringer mixer-basically a PA. Sometimes I'll use a wah-wah and/or a compressor but I generally like a clean, crisp sound with enough punch to smack the dust off the walls.
    Favorite Genres:
    I've played a good many genres; classic rock, blues, R&B, country, pop, punk and "Hmmm..." I love metal but I've never had a metal band. Even did Javanese Gamelan once. My first instrument was the oboe.
    Gigs and Ensembles:
    My current project, just getting off the ground, is a blues/rock trio called "Drops of Light."
    Influences and Teachers:
    Jack Bruce, John Entwistle, Stanley Clarke and Percy Jones early on. Lots of others later. I listen a lot to Victor Wooten-not just his playing but how he thinks about music. Very cool dude.
