    Gender:
    Male
    Location:
    US
    Occupation:
    Software Developer/Musician/Gourmet Chef
    Current Setup:
    Basses
    ------------
Fender Custom Shop LE Precision Jazz Bass Relic (dream bass)
Fender Custom Shop '64 Jazz Journeyman Relic (another dream bass)
Fender American Precision '62 Reissue (got lucky, right place right time)
EBMM Stingray Classic 4 (2011, rare '56 blue)
    Rickenbacker 4003 (mid-90s, Jetglow)
'62 Hofner Violin Bass (bought used mid-90s) - gigged with it quite a bit
    Upton Acoustic Upright (2009)

    Guitars
    ------------
    Fender American Stratocaster ('90s)
    Martin Acoustic

    Misc. Stringed instruments
    ------------
I also have two banjos (yes, I play banjo) :)

    Strings
    -----------
    Rounds:
    Currently using:
    Rotosound SM66 Swing Bass 66
    Fender Super 7250 (ML)

    Phased out:
    DR Sunbeams (used for years)

    Flats:
Pyramid Gold (warmest flats they make)

    Phased out:
Thomastik JF344 Jazz (used for years)

    Amps/Preamps
    -----------
Genzler Magellan 800 / Genzler Bass Array 15-3 SLT (that’s all I need for any gig. Lightweight, loud, and punchy)
Fender Bassman 1x12 (to leave at rehearsal space)
For recording, I go through a Universal Audio LA-610 Mk II and then direct to an audio interface.

    Effects
    -----------
I rarely use effects in general, but currently gigging with a Cali76 Compact Bass Compressor. It does a good job at balancing out my tone (always on).

I'm also using Wren and Cuff - Phat Phuk B for when I need a little boost with some grit.

    Recording
    -----------
DAWs: Ableton Live 11, Studio One 4
    Audio interface: Focusrite Scarlett 18i20
Preamps: Universal Audio LA-610 Mk II

    Misc.
    -----------
NUX C-5RC (a very compact wireless system. So impressed!)
Headstock vibration-based tuner: my new favorite is the Snark ST-8 Super Tight Clip On. I've tried many and nothing beats this one yet.

    Straps
    -----------
D'Addario leather strap for $16. I don't like strap locks or big and bulky straps. This is all I need.
