    Favorite Genres:
don't have one, I listen to and try to play everything (except modern commercal music)
    Gigs and Ensembles:
I get a lot out of busking solo. Up until recently IONIA was very active but has slowed down a bit - instrumental ensemble playing my compositions, Double bass, Classical Guitar, Percussion, Transgenre, original. Playing in Sydney and various festivals. Long history of other projects, live and in the studio... diverse discograpghy. Also working on a live film score and always writining new material.
    Previously Owned Gear:
Its not really bass stuff but I can offer advice on recording mixing and mastering. As an audio engineer I have recorded a wide range of music. As a bassist I have played many styles.
    G.A.S. List:
    A couple more double basses...
    Influences and Teachers:
When I was young Brian Ritchies acoustic bass guitar playing on the violent femmes first album. Miloslav Gajdos, Charlie Haden, I love his versatility and the wide cross section of music he has played. I listen to everything from industrial noise to classical music and have a penchant for eastern European folk and traditional gypsy music. As a writer I dont think I am influenced by anyone but as a player I am in awe of the masters of their instruments. I guess I am more inspired by music as a whole rather then just bassists. In the electric realm I like the post punk bass sounds, Simon Gallup of the Cure one of my favourites.
    Hobbies and Interests:
    Motorcycling
    Available for Instruction?:
    • Double Bass Instruction
    Teaching Credentials:
I have run music workshops for people with disabilities as well as teaching from a music school.
I have had an eclectic musical background and have played many genres, always original music that I am usually the creative force. I was a professional audio engineer for many years and have produced countless indi bands. I run a small boutique label and continue to release music from my projects. Only play double bass these days, gave away the electric instruments except for some recording projects.
