Pros - Warm with ample low mid fullness and punch.
    Cons - Low output.
I put a pair into my 2000 Fender US made Jazz. It has an Ash body maple board and it gave it a nice warm punchy tone. The output is low so I run mine through an Aguilar Tonehammer DI. You can just turn up the gain on your amp. True to Bartolini fashion (I play them in most of my basses), they have a warm low mid focus and has a nice bloom. They don't have that sizzle but for a passive pickup and a single passive control knob I'm not looking for that modern sound. Great pickups.

Pros - Awesome growl and definitely improves the sound of any bass you drop 'em into.
Cons - A little pricey, but worth it.
Replaced the jazz bass pickups in my Ibanez with these pups and turned it into an amazing sounding bass. Running these through a distortion or fuzz pedal is amazing.

They don't seem to hum as much as others (leading single coil brands) and are super warm and punchy. They are super quiet in their output however and you need to boost your amps gain. I run mine through an aguilar tonehammer pre amp set flat and that gives it a nice pressence but keeps the nice warm Bart tone. On a side note, I like the looks and feel of the rubber covers. I know that shouldn't make a difference but what can I say they do to me!
