Second bass I bought from a second hand furniture shop..my fav bass out of 7 I have.
    4.5/5, 4.5 out of 5, reviewed Apr 24, 2018
    Build Quality:
Nice neck, great warm sound, suits various styles strung with ghs pressure-wounds.
You need to play one and will appreciate an overlooked underrated bass even if you don't buy one.
I know this is a not a real tech in depth review, but a subjective comparison based on owning the following and playing for 20+years
    Yamaha BEX4
    Ibanez 83 destroyer
    Ibanez SRH 500
Gibson/Epiphone P/J with EMG BQC EQ
    Aria 84 P bass
    Artist jumbo AEB
The single coils are little noisy but expected , 3 way pup selector switch can clean that up as can rolling off some treble.
Neck pup is warm and fudge like, the bridge pup is honky similar to a jazz pup.
Weight and neck dive are no problem.
Pearloid scratch plate is very nice and mine is a 92 and is acquiring that light yellow tint of aging...very pleasing. Semi hollow body and f hole adds nice resonance.
Single volume and tone knobs combined with pups and moving fingers or pick between bridge and neck is all you need to coax a good range of sounds from fat lows to focused mids.
I'm not a slapper but I find slap/pop not difficult on this string spacing and medium low action.
Rosewood fretboard feels good under fingers and compliments the orange red finish and lovely grained mahogany body and sides. Overall finish v.good
I would track down another if Lost, stolen or damaged.
Have actually been thinking of looking for a second.
    Price Paid:
    $400 AUD USED

Sadly, the entire Charvel family lost their homes and production facilities in the fire that destroyed Paradise, CA. in 2018. The family has promised to deliver on every guitar that was on order, but has no timetable for doing so.
