First let me say I like DR strings, and have used Sunbeams, Legends, and Low Riders and always enjoyed them.

This was my first (and last) set of Neons. I bought them on sale thinking I was getting a great price on a cool looking string, but instead I had wasted my money.

The coating seems a little thick compared to the other coated strings I have tried. Normally, I prefer coating strings - Elixir, Ernie Ball, Aurora, and even DR Silver Stars. But these strings were awful, so bad in fact I took them off after only a month. I just couldn't take them anymore.

Why? These strings lacked output to start with. Plus the tone was murky and undefined. Not only that but they also had a clankiness to them. They did have a good feel to them, but I was always struggling for a good sound. I had them on a EBMM Sterling 5H running through a Mesa D800 which normally kills, but not with these strings.

    No more Neons for me.
