This was a nice surprise. LOOOUD as the vintage solid-state amps of the 70's (Acoustic, Road Electronics, Peavey, etc-.), with a nice and responsive control section (gain, bass, treble and eq). Quality constructed case on plywood (quality looks similar to my UK-made Hiwatt cabinet), pots feel and work fine, jack inputs feel solid, no loose parts. A somehow useless limiter is there and a external input and headphone connection for practicing (in my opinion it is a little out of place considering the loudness of this head, but anyway, it might be useful for someone). Be aware that the HIWATT SOUND is out of the scope of this head, however, it has a remarkable power and a very nice sound for a budget head. An effects loop would be a great addition, but you always can send your pedals to the input and controlling the signal with the passive/active switch. Indeed, pedal chain works remarkably fine in this head, as it happens with all Hiwatt amps.
