I was curious about this bass when I saw it on Ebay. I never knew Martin to be associated with electric basses and the reviews weren't very flattering. I bought it with the idea of working on it and was very surprised. It is a heavy bass but nonetheless very comfortable has a nice punchy sound out of my GK MB410. Had some wear and scratches so I refinished the body and head stock. I will most likely replace the pots, switch and shield the cavities with copper or aluminium tape. This is now one of my "workhorse" basses - I've been gigging with it for several months now and do not regret buying it.

    Heavy Plywood body
Good Sounding Pick ups in JP configuration - slightly on the treble side with round wounds or "black beauties
Good strong neck - very comfortable - closer to an old
Precision - super straight with low string action - neck had to be shimmed with a .25 shim
Medium heavy bridge several allen screws were rusted - WD-40 solved that
Controls 2 volume 1 tone and 1 pickup selection switch
Pots and electronics on the cheap side - will replace pick up selection switch and pots
Tuners - OK but kinda cheap
