Here's a thread that I started on this cab, and there are many other TB praises in their as well:
MESA BOOGIE POWERHOUSE 412 MAYHEM one cab to raise the dead.
I've been playing bass for over 30 years and I own and have owned the best bass gear that money can buy.
For the last decade, I've been using Italian made Markbass 4x10's and 4x8's with horns, and they're the smoothest, punchiest, lush, and most praised tone that I thought I'd ever hear... until I tried this Mesa.
When my band mates and followers heard that I was shopping for a cab, they wanted to kill me. They all adored my Markbass tone and always commented that it was the best they'd ever heard, and I agreed. But I recently got into tube heads, and I wanted to try some bigger speakers with them.
I tried the 12's from Orange, and they were horrible and gimmickey... I tried the Markbass 15's, and they were lackluster. I wanted to try the Mesa, but no stores carried it, so I couldn't hear it, it was expensive as heck to buy, and also expensive to ship... It had to come freight, which I had to pay... and if I didn't like it, I'd be screwed returning it.
Well my leap of faith paid off big time! As my band gathered round, prepared to be unimpressed, I struck one note, and they all just stared. That was all it took. It is the fattest, punchiest, defined, and articulated tone that I could ever imagine.
This is the tone that I've always dreamed of. It was easily worth all of the trouble and extra money to get it, so if it's on your radar, don't hesitate!
