I love the way this bass sounds when you dig in. It has almost like a compressed growl that cuts. I can always pick it out in a recording or a youtube clip blindfolded. These basses have a knack for response that clear but cuts with a unique voice. They are durable and with a 5 or 6 you never have to worry about neck needing a set up or constant tuning after weather changes.

Absolutely beastly sound from these things. Sick action, and of course no need to adjust it ever!

Very clean low B. Can't say I'm a 5 string player, I'm really not into them. But if I was, I'd own another q5.

    Wow!

This is one of the nicest pieces of gear I have ever owned. Its a masterpiece of an instrument. Its extremely sturdy and tone wise its a beast. It cuts through any mix as a worthy adversary to a percussive instrument and is a melodic harp like instrument with clarity from the stock bartolini electronics loaded in all the way up the neck.

I have played mine for a year now, gigs are always a pleasure with this bass, it took me five years to afford one, but so worth it.

I would recommend this bass to any player who is curious about graphite necks, there is just nothing better than the engineers at modulus applying this to an instrument. When I pull mine from the case and I feel that cold glassy neck with the back of my thumb its like hold the pint glass to my favorite beer. Love this bass.

But you don't have to take my word for it.
