    • + Sound, construction, reliability, true bypass. MXR is making sweet bass-specific pedals!
    Cons
    • - None at all.
MXR has evolved in my eyes to being one of the best large manufacturers (non-boutique) of effect pedals. Back in the day, my friends and I didn't consider them much and gravitated toward "the other guys." But now, "the other guys" have either gone out of business, no longer make pedals or aren't making anything that engages me.

The Bass Octave Deluxe is certainly a testament to what MXR is turning out -- superb sound, rugged construction and fantastic reliability. Additionally, they've embraced the true bypass function on all the MXR pedals I've purchased. Bravo!

    • - no so far
You can find more use for these than one might think at first. Just add growl. You don't have to have a stevie wonder or Peter Gabriel song to use this. It thickens up your tone and then you can shape it from there.

    • + Awesome octave tone and very versatile.
    Cons
    • - Does not track very well on low notes.
Best tone from an octave I've come across. Best for playing higher register notes. I use it behind an envelope and fuzz which makes a bass sound like Godzilla.
