    • + Very sturdy construction
    • + The controls allow provide an amazingly large and deep tonal range
    • + As subtle or as fuzzy as you want or need to be
    Cons
    • - Boutique, so it's NOT inexpensive
I was looking for a good fuzz pedal for bass and noticed that almost every one that I found left me wanting for 'something' but I wasn't sure what. After trying every bass and guitar fuzz in the store, the sales guy said "Well, we have this boutique fuzz that we haven't tried yet" and walked over with the Violet Menace. I was about to pass on it when I noticed the Mids control. That caught me be surprise and when I plugged it in and dialed the mids up and back back into my tone, it was clear what had been missing.

The combination of the Mids and Tone controls allows you to really dial in the perfect fuzz tone for the bass!

Simply put, this is the fuzz that we all know and love but with the addition of controls that make it ideal for the bass (even though it was designed for 6 string guitars)!

Operating out of Florida and founded in 2008, Stomp Under Foot is the brainchild of Matt Pasquerella, one of the foremost authorities on Big Muff construction and cloning.

The Violet Menace is based on a Violet version of the Ram's Head with some added control over mids for more nuance in sculpting the fuzz and allowing you more options for shaping and creating your sound.

While adding the mids control the circuit was modified to keep the original punch on chords and the smooth, singing tone on leads. The added mids goes from a really scooped tone all the way up to a slight mid hump to help cut in a live situation.
