Pros - Affordable, light weight, punchy P bass sound, fit and finish second to none.
Cons - Cheap electronics, gear snobs will fuss at you over it.
Fantastic bass for the money, swap good strings onto it, give it a good setup and slide into bass playing heaven. This thing is just way too good for the money you pay, if people were to judge an instrument on how well it is made, how good it plays, and how good it sounds, these SX Ursa 1s would get a WHOLE lot more respect than they do! This is what a P Bass should be like!

I bought the fretless P/J version in red last year. Very similar experience, wonderful finish, needed strings and set up but unlike you i feel the electronics are actually a cut above the norm. Thanks for the review.

I took my electronics out in order to swap the PG, they are definately undersized compared to the Ibanezes and Squiers I am used to, BUT they operate just fine. My only concern would be longevity. No biggie though. I play the snot out of this thing and I haven't managed to mess it up yet.
