I've been using TI strings for many years and have never been disappointed with the feel and sound. I bought several sets about six years ago and was surprised to see the current price but these are very good strings. I would highly recommend these or other TI strings to anyone who can live with the price.
Pros - Best sounding, best feel of any strings I ever purchased.
Cons - No cons.
I was a rotosound string user for a long time. Played Fender flats, Chromes and tried at least 10 other brands at different points in time. I recently tried the thomastik infelds JF344'S and I was impressed immediately. I don't think I will be trying any new strings for a while, these strings meet my needs in all departments of tone and feel. After two weeks and at least 30 hours of playing, they are still smooth and crisp sounding like the day I put them on.
Pros - Smooth as silk, felt like I was playing glass
Cons - Price is a Little Steep but then look what we spend on a great amp or even a strap.
I was playing in KC and after a set ,a guy comes up to me and says my D is out and my G is Dead,,
He says let me adjust it and try these strings.
He redid it in about 15 minutes and when I played the next set,
I had the most BadA$$ Rick around.
Smooth- Silky- and the Bottom end Punched u in the Gut.
Honestly- best strings I'd ever played on.
Oh !! By the way ,,
"That Guy was the Tech for the Kansas City Symphony.
And all I can say is "Thank U for turning me on to them"!!
I was very reluctant about spending over $30 for bass strings, but having never read a negative comment about Thomastik-Infeld bass strings, curiosity got the better of me, and I'm glad it did.
I seriously can't believe the tone these POWERBASS STRINGS ring out, and I mean RING because they do... they sing, they ring piano tones. Neither did I expect the flexibility. I've recently become a real fan of 45 - 90 gauge strings because of the flexibility of the gauge, but the POWERBASS STRINGS, even with a 107 E string is more flexible than any other string I've played. The G string has a brightness that is not bitter. It doesn't have the type of bite that would make you want to turn the treble down. It's bright, but thumps when it hits the fretboard. It's the most perfect G string I ever heard.
Buying the Thomastik-Infeld - POWERBASS BASS STRINGS is like owning a BMW... once you've had one, you can't drive anything else. I have these strings on my Fender American Deluxe Dimension Bass IV HH. I'm going to have to purchase 2 more sets. One for the P-Bass, and another for the J-Bass. They are worth the price.
Here's how much I like these strings. I've been playing bass with a pick and I sometimes strum hard. I busted the A string so I replaced the strings with another brand that I had laying around. The thing is, I don't like the sound of my bass with the replacements! The TI Powerbass strings have a very unique feel and sound that I prefer. Only thing is, I now have to wait for my order to arrive...
