What we have here is the ultimate jazz bass. It has tone and feel that is like no other I have ever played. The Ash body and Maple neck give this bass a bright attack that would make Marcus Miller happy. The electronics are the best I have ever used, very clean and natural sounding. The 3 band EQ and mid switches will have you finding new tones, but it is not intimidating. Very usable eq throughout the entire range. Play ability is off the charts, I have never had a bass setup this nicely (3/64 action with no buzz). The neck feels so comfortable, like an old pair of shoes. The Low B is amazing, shattering the myth that you need 35" scale, this is the best B string I ever played. The bass is 9.8 lbs, I do think weight makes this bass what it is, so does Xotic as they are opinionated on weight. If your on the fence about theses basses (japan ones), don't be they are giant slayers.

* Mini Toggle Switch - Use the Switch closer to the headstock to switch the mid-frequencies (400Hz/800Hz), and the other Switch to switch the treble-frequencies (6Hz/12kHz).
* Pre-set gain control to boost gain by one to three times (located in back panel for easy access).
* 18V drive is for more headroom, which allows incoming signals to pass through cleanly, without clipping the high-end or low-end frequencies. (Requires two 9V batteries)
