I scored my second Kay bass today, a 1955 Kay M-1B in terrific shape with a new ebony board and adjustable bridge. It’s a Kay boomer. Bob and Cody and the guys at the Bass Violin Shop did it up great. It has a set of Helicore pizz strings on it now and it sounds great but they have a bit too much tension for much me. I have always wanted a Kay Swingmaster but why think this will do for now. :)

Looks in great shape! This would be a birth year bass for me.

I had a ‘40 Kay long ago. Really liked it and it had an awesome original sand coloured canvas cover. Super light for gigging but protective. They should still make those covers today.

Thanks Sam. I spotted it at BVS when they were fixing up my 1942 Kay. I fell in love with my Kay so much that I decided to trade in my Romanian Hybrid on the Kay. I have a thing for blondes and this one was irresistible lol.
