Up for sale is a bass that I bought here on TB. It now has EMG Geezer pups in it, that is the only thing I have changed. Still plays and sounds great. The frets could use some love but I've kept flats on it and it has never been a hinderence. Price point reflects all this... Mojo.

This is from the original thread:

(2005 Lakland Skyline Bob Glaub. Maple neck, ash body. WELL used! Someone really played the heck out of this thing. Arrow straight neck(1.7 inches wide at the nut) with smooth adjusting trussrod and low action. Super light at 7 lbs 15 ozs on the digital shipping scale. Dings, gouges, scratches, corrosion, stains, bumps, bruises, good amount of fretwear all over. Natural relic/road worn condition. When I got this bass there were stickers all over it and one of the saddles was replaced with a Fender saddle. The stickers were carefully removed, I ordered a replacement saddle from Lakland, and the entire bass disassembled and cleaned, the broken strap button screw was removed from the upper horn.)

I got a good deal on it and added the EMGs. It has mojo but plays like a champ, I'm just trying to fund a few things and it should be a killer bass for someone.

How does it sound with the Geezers compared to the Fralins?

I haven't played the Fralins P pups, it had the neo-punch from Lakland/Hanson. I like the EMGs better. The Geezers have a more open mid-range kind of feel to them. Tone full out and they offer up a Billy Sheehan kind of high end. I usually roll off the tone about 50% and they have all the growl and punch I need. But it's all subjective.

A search on TB can yeild others' opinions. There are several discussions where the Geezers are reviewed more eloquently.

Geezers are some seriously nice p pups. And that's a seriously good looking Lakland P at a great price.

I'll take it!! :hyper:Is the original pickup included? I could use it for my other BG 4 that had the pickup robbed from it.
Send me your PP address, or call me, or send me a PP request to [email protected], thanks!!

Just for future reference how does something like this happen? If someone took the Fralin out of my early Skyline BG I'd lose my mind.

Looking forward to the bass, it's been a pleasure dealing with you.
