My 2 favorite records from bands that only put out one album are both STP side projects. The quality of the instrumentation all these years later still inspires me.

Some might argue to the contrary, but as far as I’m concerned, the Sex Pistols only put out one true album, Bollocks, and I’ll give that a listen every once in a while.
  4. They put out three actually, but....KINGSTON WALL for me.

New Radicals – Maybe You've Been Brainwashed Too (1998)
Just good L.A.-based power-pop songwriting and production. I don't listen to it all that often.

Oysterhead – The Grand Pecking Order (2001)
Rumor has it that Anastasio/Claypool/Copeland might be cooking up something new, so Oysterhead may not be a 1-album band for much longer.

Toy Matinee. One of my favorite albums of all time. Kevin Gilbert went solo after this, and he died in 1996, so it was their only album.

Follow For Now. An Atlanta band wrongly compared to Living Colour. Their one album is SO good.

Only sorta counts because it's really an EP mashed into an LP. But anyone buying Operation Ivy after Rancid happened basically bought the 1 CD.

  15. Demilich and Control Denied are the big ones for me, also Ripping Corpse, Lykathea Aflame, Weakling, Okazaki Fragments, Zhrine, Mortichnia, Apollo Ra, Ved Buens Ende... Probably a few others I'm forgetting. And there are demo or EP-only bands, like Timeghoul, Negativa, Nihilist...

Also big ups to Jeff Buckley.

Charlie's put out many solo albums, but this was the only one with the Sextet... and it's probably the best thing he's ever done. Incredible stuff, folks... just great Americana rock... awesome songs... well produced.
