and tell me what ya think.....
Pretty unique too
But one oddity: No strings???
almost done. frigging allparts didnt deliver the foam for underneath the pups, so i gotta find an alternative.
That's sweet, man. Is that a kit, or did you find the parts (or build 'em) yourself?
Post mp3's when she's finished, Novus!!!!!
See if you can find narrow diameter latex/silicone surgical tubing - I like it so much better than the foam.
Just a 1/2" to 3/4" length on the screws twix body and pups...
Stew Mac and All Parts both have it.
What do the knobs and switches do?
V. nice btw
left to right:
mid select switch
body and neck are from Warmoth, picked out by me for the matching black binding. birdseye maple over Nothern hard Ash. Birdseye maple neck with black blocks and binding.
Gotoh bridge (string thru if desired)
Aguilar OBP-3 pre-amp with passive/active switch and mid select
post an mp3? when I figure that out, I will.
Instead of sponges,
Try killing some bic retractible pens and taking the springs.
Put one around each screw.
Wow, never thought of that before. I gotta try it. Anyone else do this before?
sounds like it would work.
No, but it wouldn't work for me. The problem is, I rest my thumb on the pickup, and those little tiny springs would probably give enough the pickup would move around and creak while I played. Much heavier duty springs would work great, but they are very hard to find. Maybe springs from Radio Control cars/planes of some kind. remember, they don't have to go around the screws, either. One at each end of the pickup would also work (as in an improvement to the foam). IMHO.
BTW, awesome lookin' bass, dude. I'd really like to hear mp3's of it when done.
Wow, that looks really nice.
thanks Nick (and all also). How's the other side of the pond today? grey and rainy I suppose?
I really like that bass. It looks beautiful. Congrats on it!
Looks great! Dave and Wish have nothing on you!
Looks great - and finally someone else uses a gotoh 206!
Looks great!! Looking forward to seeing, and possibly hearing, the finished product!
Excellent! Very striking bass. Did it come pre-routed and finished?
