RARE AS ALL HELL & MINT AS DAY-ONE: Here is something you don't see everyday -- this is 1 of 5 Hofner 500 / 1-HGL Green Line Basses made for the the United States and this is definitely a rare showcase model -- highly figured flame maple neck, back and sides -- check out those stripes! This is hand carved, no CNC machines, all beautiful walnut appointments (check out the vid below)!

Gorgeous satin natural finish on a Spruce top -- still smells new as day-one, has not left case for more than an hour tops, and never left the studio! Color goes from light natural to beautiful butterscotch in sunlight -- see pics!

This one if for the small batch/rare Hofner collectors & players of finely crafted & tuned German instruments!

This stunning German-crafted, MINT example which has spent it's life in its case inside a climate controlled dust/smoke/pet free studio, features beautiful walnut binding (instead of plastic on the others), walnut bridge, walnut pickguard & knobs, plus no ugly rectangular control panel -- gorgeous 3-knob control layout! Also has a beautiful walnut-bound fretboard! German Schaller tuners and straplocs come standard on these rare models (still in packaging with tags, case candy, etc).

She's killer sounding and extremely resonant, light, articulate and classic, featuring those traditional Hofner Blade Pickups and Hofner flatwounds ! All hangtags/case candy and original tweed Hardshell case included! Best of all -- NO EASILY CRACKED PLASTIC LIKE ON THE OTHERS!

Priced to go and last of its kind in the USA. Get this rare piece that will only continue to rise in value at a bargain price while it lasts; hardshell case included and affordable shipping at just $69.00 including insurance to your door in the CONUS/Top 48 States.

    From Hofner, Germany:
One of our aims with this instrument has been to eliminate as much plastic as possible and to use an environmentally friendly finish whilst retaining the looks and sound of the iconic Violin Bass. To this end the plastics used in the headplate, truss rod cover, heel plate, nut, pickup surrounds, scratchplate, dot markers and body binding have all been replaced with non-endangered walnut wood. The tuners and buttons are now metal which can easily be recycled. We replaced the ebony bridge with one crafted from walnut. The bass is finished in a light wax coat which is not poisonous to the environment and also very easy to repair should that ever be needed in the future.
