Beautiful 5 string fretless with piezo pickup, Vintage sunburst finish and tortise shell pick guard. My pics are to big to post but Email me and I will send you some serious Bass Porn. Ok < I payed way too much for this bass so I'm looking to trade for a lakland or other high end bass. Even if it requires a little cash from me.
I paid the tag on this one. They wouldn't budge.
$1800.00 for a MM5 ? Yes I had real bad GAS for this bass. The sound is incredible. But I play in a R&B band and need frets. Some Jazz guy is going to be very very happy with this one. I've had this for about 1 yr. Played it 15-20 hours. Some one help me. This bass is way too beautiful to be sitting in a closet. Please try to limit the Comments insulting me for my stupidity on the price I paid for this one. But if you played it you would know why I payed the price. I beleive this is truly the one.
  2. So just to clear this up for everyone, to make sure, you are asking $1800 for the bass?
  3. Make me an offer I can't refuse. You know the saying money talks ____ ____ walks. Trade value I would like not to eat it to bad. Any serious inquires not turned away. You gotta see the pics of this thing.

    Hi bassstud,
That's one gorgeous bass you got there. I know you said that you need a fretted bass for your current group, but if this is truly THE ONE, I can't help but think that you'll be sorry you dumped it. Unfortunately, the market is going to allow only $1000-1200 (and that's optimistic) for a used piezo Stingray, depending on the condition. There are lots of traders out there, and maybe someone with a Lakland is looking for a MM. Be sure to throw it up at bassgear.com and harmonycentral.com, but be ready for the lowballers, and don't take it personally. Good luck with your search.
  5. Thanks for the input. I have a dollar figure in my head. If I can't get that amount I will keep her. I still miss my 4001 thay got ripped off in 77. Once they are gone they are gone. This bass really does deserve a better Master. Oh yeah and this bass is pre owned but calling it used....? I really would guarantee that who ever gets this bass next would not know it was pre owned except for the fact I told them. And no I don't paint cars on the side.

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing.
  8. Can you order a bass from MM like this ?..... Yea probably but the cost is going to be way over $1800 dollars I'll bet not to mention the time it takes to get to you. I'm not trying to misrepresent this thing......but seriously if you guys played if you would under stand. If I don't get any offers soon I'll end up keeping it and putting a graphite neck on it. Thanks for all your input. I'm just glad to be a member of this community.

Well, I don't understand why it's one of a kind, though. There's one exactly like this, but with a fretted maple board, at the local GC for about $1300, brand new. I must say I've yet to see an $1800 Stingray. Regardless, good luck.

If you don't sell it, the graphite neck (Status? Moses?) will be killer.

If you dont sell it,or change your mind about the graphite neck, just have frets put on it.
    Just a suggestion.
  11. Angus, I hope you missed the fact that the one for $1300 does not have a piezo. I'm told that thaty is a $ 375 mark up. I'm not saying I want $1800 cash for this thing. If everyone must know I would take $1500 cash money for this thing. But I would prefer to trade up to a higher end bass. I checked with North West Indianas surpreme luither. He wanted $300 to frt my existing neck but made a proposal to make me a brand new neck fretted simular to what I have for $250?? I guess he really did not want to fret my existing neck. If I go grapithe I will probably go with Moses. Thanks again for all your input.

I know that this is a long shot but perhaps Ernie Ball would sell you another neck if you explained your situation to them, including what you paid for the bass.
  14. I already talked to Ernie Ball. They said if I sent them the bass they would put a fretted neck on it for $300. That is their standard charge. And they keep the old neck. I guess that's their way of trying to keep a bunch of MM necks showing up on imposter bodies. Thanks fo the suggestion.
