Discussion in 'Recordings [BG]' started by Surprise Panda!, Sep 30, 2008.

  1. Hi,

After seeing the 1,001 Albums book a lot, I decided to make a talkbass version.

What will be in the list?

    1. Soundgarden- Superunknown
    2. Mars Volta- De-Loused in the Comatorium

I know these is already on the list, but that doesn't mean we can't take from it!

    Please number them

All of the Beatles' albums... the number depends on where you live I guess.

Not all of them, man. I'd agree with Revolver-Abbey Rd., but no one really needs to hear Meet The Beatles.

Hard Day's night is a great movie, and Help has a great title track, but they're not essential, especially compared to the rest of their late discography.

Rubber Soul... I'm looking at the tracklist now, and yeah, people should probably listen to it.

  9. Graceland - Paul Simon
Live at the Apollo -James Brown
Pet Sounds - The Beach Boys

What's Going On - Marvin Gaye

  14. The entire Smiths' catalog. Andy Rourke is an extremely overlooked player and played some of the best counter melodic bass lines I've ever heard. Never too busy and always appropriate.

  15. Sunny Day Real Estate - Diary

    Good choice

    I'd also say

    33 - Melvins - Stoner Witch
    34 - Mr. Bungle - Disco Volante

Might not be the most popular but I feel they are ones that must be heard
