my bass is a 32' meduim scale bass it came with 45-95 strings. now the bass d and g string dont stay in tune i need new strings. i was wonder if i got a 45-105 set will the 105 fit the nut slot with out having to widen it. i will be using nickle roundwonds

  2. I think it would be unusual for a manufacturer to make a bass that did not take what most people regard as standard gauge strings, so I would expect them to fit.
You could borrow a friends cast-off strings and check them for size, or you could check out their size in a shop (without marking or bending their string).

You could always GENTLY rub the larger string back and forth in the nut slot to widen the groove. I have done this before and it worked great with no problem whatsoever.
