Hello! I am considering to buy a second hand mark bass little mark 250 blakline which delivers 150 w into 8 ohms. The problem is that I own a GK 410 rbh cabinet and it is rated at 800 W. Will I be underpowering the cabinet?

I once used my H&K head in its 5W setting with a cab that is rated 600W.
    I'm glad i escaped alive!

On the road home, i drove my car, which is rated at a topspeed of 190kph, at only 70kph.

    Yep, another one saved.

PS. Once I used my electric toothbrush on the low setting...I'm okay. :)

I once went to an "all you can eat" restaurant, I didn't eat all I could.

I ate all I could. But every time I was about to finish everything they served even more to eat. So at least I gave up.

Sometimes I fill a water glass only halfway.

  14. Underpowering is not, I repeat, not, a thing.
What you will have is speaker headroom up the wazoo.
    It's all good.

Yes - but it won't hurt it. It just won't get really loud, and therefor will likely not sound great.
Get something that matches your cab better - a 500 watt head like a Aguilar TH500 would work nicely.

    THINK!!!

IF UNDERPOWERING WOULD HURT A CAB THEN EVERY TIME YOU TURNED DOWN THE VOLUME YOU WOULD DAMAGE THE CABINET!!!

  18. 150 watts and a 4x10 might get kind of loud.
That's more than Sir Paul had at Shea Stadium.
And yes they were into the house system, but it had the frequency response of a dial up phone line.
That's OK though. No one ever went to a Beatles concert to hear the music.

  19. Forget turning it down, what would happen when you turned the amp off and power went to zero! Doom!!

Ok we're all being a bit snarky OP but you get the point. Underpowering as some sort of speaker destroying monster is a nonsense myth.

150W into a 4x10 can get plenty loud - UNLESS the cab is rated for 800w which means it's designed to be driven by many more watts that 150.
