SOLD $1750 Modulus Graphite Quantum 4 1996 custom made 2TEK

For sale a very unique custom bass by Modulus Graphite; this was a custom order (something that Modulus did not do too often!).
The model is Quantum 4 (from 1996).
Very resonant Alder body with great Flame maple top in Amber/ orange gloss finish; bass is in very good condition!
Modulus Quantum basses sound killer; but this one sounds better than any other Modulus I have heard; it's a tone monster! It sounds quite similar and just as good as my Modulus TBX 5 string basses (tbx are neckthrough body).
This bass was a custom order for 4 reasons:
1.The Color
2.The Hipshot extender key
3.The Location of the two pickups for extra growl
4. The 2TEK bridge
I believe the factory installed 2TEK bridge is really what sets this bass apart from the rest tone wise, it just kills!! It's great for slapping but also has a great punch for fingerstyle playing !
The location of the Bartolinis is also super important ; the neck one is bassy but growly and the bridge one Burps better than a frog ! It's great for Jaco style sounds and articulate melodies and solos!!
Bartolinis match better than EMG's for Modulus basses; they are much warmer and growly to counteract the brightness of the graphite neck ; I love EMG's but for these basses I think Bartolinis are a better match.
The preamp is also made by Bartolini and the bass is 35 inch scale for a tighter sound .
As you know Modulus basses have gone into bankruptcy; they are getting harder and harder to find; quantum 4 string basses are almost impossible to find especially in this condition and with these specs .

$1750 shipped (it was $1850 reduced now to $1750 firm) this is the best modulus bass you will ever play trust me ! It's also in great condition!! If it was a 5 string I would never sell it !

I have 2tek bridges installed in many of my basses... They are the real deal!!
I'm surprised the idea never really took off and got the credit it deserved .

 

WOW!!! So you know very well how this changes the voice !
Fodera does a bass (Tom Kennedy model ) and it kills!!! As long as you have a good preamp to boost the lows for those cases where you need a neck pickup sound ...

May be... I did not know much about templates ... I have an fbass a curbow and 2 hamers plus one Surine with 2tek bridges; they all sound great!

I have had the 4 tbx since may of 2012; I bought it from Bass NW; that's a killer bass too! I'm sure it's your ex bass; I have read about its history before !

 

I read it was a great bass ... And a rare pre tbx and a couple of people here in tb owned it in the past ; nobody ever complained about it!
