18v Warwick mod

Discussion in 'Pickups & Electronics [BG]' started by Jake-icus, Nov 2, 2006.

  1. Probably a dumb question...
I'd like to convert my Warwick from 9 volts to 18.

Does anyone know if this is a wise idea (as far as whether this particular circuitry/preamp can handle it, etc)?

Also, how would I wire the batteries... er... you know what i mean.:bawl:

depends on your preamp...my late-nineties streamer lx5 jazzman has the seymour duncan pre in there which can be run with 18v...but it´s probably difficult to fit the additional battery in the control cavity.

As far as I know the MEC or Seymour dont take 18 volt unless it is FOR 18v.

Its not like the EMGs or Aguilar that can work with either voltage
  4. as far as I know, the Warwick MEC preamp was adjusted from an 18v to a 9v - not downgraded, they just figured out how to make the same preamp do the same thing with only 9v.
