I've got this amazing fully restored 1940's MI/O1 Kay bass in Boston. I mainly study orchestral music right now and do not play on the bass enough. Looking to rent it out (250/month) to someone who will play it a lot, but not particularly looking to sell the bass, unless a great offer comes through.

I got the bass fully restored about 4 years ago and it sounds and plays great!

  2. Doesn't johnson strings in Newton rent hybrids for about 1000 a year? Which is less than 100 a month. Your price may be too high.

Those basses that they rent for 6 months for $1000 are usually brand new hybrid type of instruments, Shen or something like that. They don't rent out vintage instruments, i've actually called when I was in a bind to find an instrument to rent and they where trying to rent me a Pollman for $350 a month. The basses they renr out good basses, but they sound pretty "green" and it has especially been a different scene over there since they actually closed their bass exclusive shop. They also do not include sales tax in their prices online. I would be willing to come down on the rental price though if someone was serious about it.
