1964-65 inspired parts bass upgrade

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by Bass4ThePublic, Aug 13, 2019.

  1. hello, I’m upgrading my vintage themed parts bass neck. Right now it has a Warmoth neck that weighs a ton and overall doesn’t feel good imo. I’m trying a Musikraft neck now with specs accurate to 1964-65. I’m choosing to dye the walnut on the neck to look like rosewood because the situation for rosewood is bad right now. I’m putting some Gotoh Reverse tuners on it with some relicing. I’m putting a Fender American Vintage Bone Nut on the bass. Fender says it takes 3-9 days to ship and it’s been 7 days so who knows at this point. I’m probably probably gonna sell the loaded Warmoth neck.

  4. Update: I saw that my screws for the tuners were still rusting which indicated I didn’t wash them off properly. I then went to my sink where I proceeded to turn on the sink and lose half of the screws down the drain due to the water pressure. Luckily I have extras.
  5. Just got the bone nut from Fender. They didn't provide a tracking number so I emailed them today wondering what was going on. Not 5 minutes later, FedEx man comes to the door giving me the part!
