    hey guys--
got a line on one--great, knowlegable seller--
66p all stock, except pickup--worn finish w/sticker shadow (removed) on front--orig case. see pic below.
    3K range

seems like a all orig would be around 3500 to 4K right now, does the changed pu devalue it more?? i'm excited about the bass, just want to be able to get my $$ out if i don't like it.
    thanks

Changed pickup devalues it more, IMO (and the sticker shadow). But I'll defer to the more expert appraisers here......don't suppose you have a pic?

    3k is a great price for a 66 P-bass. ( without orig. pickup)

an all original 66 are going in the 5k range.

Just a guess here, but I think to find an original replacement pickup will cost you around $500, or maybe a little more.

+1. The nice thing about the non-orig pickup is that you can put whatever you want in it and not worry about the resale hit. So many good replacement pickups around these days....

If the guy is williing to sell it at 3500-4k, then it sounds like he's already taken in account the changed pickup and paint shadow.
lately I've seen nice 69-72 P's sell for that range. Usually, nice 66 P sell for alot more than 4k.

Pristine 66s are worth more than 6k I think.
