SOLD - MASTERBUILT JOHN KALLAS 1966 JAZZ BASS Here's the previous thread for this bass. Purchased it here on TB. True Fender Custom Shop quality. Easily a number one player. Soon after acquiring I decided to cut down to a couple of basses and get very familiar with those instead of constantly flipping basses as I have been. Bought a NYC Sadowsky Will Lee here on TB and held on to my US Lakland Decade. Sold off everything else and this is the last one remaining. All my tonal needs covered and no need to keep this fine bass sitting around. Since everything else sold at decent prices I have no great need to sell. Don't want another bass in trade (for reasons stated above) but thought I'd see if anybody had any gear they'd want to part ways with. I'm interested in light weight amps primarily, but always open to pedals as well. Of course cash might need to enter the equation as well depending on what's involved. Will still sell outright of course. Thanks for looking. Bass is still in same excellent condition as when I received it. Comes with Fender hard case.
I own this bass's twin brother and it's my first call jazz bass. It has been for years and I'm always amazed and pleased when I gig with it. JohnK really nailed it with these!
I"m not sure if I'm getting the right color on my monitor but is that Ice Metallic Blue? Also, do you know the weight?
Definitely looks that way in some of the pics but it's lake placid blue. Weight is right at 9 pounds.
Not sure which previous owner did this, but somebody decided that removing the neck wouldn't be the best way to make truss rod adjustments.
