So my former drummer, who also owns lots of PA gear, calls me up tonight to see if I’d join his new 3-piece. So he’s telling me about some gear he’s acquired... and mentions an SVT 810 that he picked up. It’s a 1969. When he opened it up, he found a tag on the inside that he’s assuming is a serial number . - 001 !
    Could it be?
I’m an Accugroove and SWR user. I really don’t know much about classic Ampeg gear.
Is this some other ID ?

Could be a misreading of the tag. Most of the cabs of that era with the little paper slip tags (as below) had .00 or .001 on them to denote the cab was not powered (amps had the power rating in that spot). The serial numbers of each product were not sequential in any way as far as I'm aware.
