Hi Guys, I have recently bought a fender FSR 1970s p bass, mex, natural finish.
    Sounds great I love it.
Does anyone know which pick ups are in these? Are they Fender original or 62 custom shop? I want some for my SQ squire japan p bass.
    Can you help? Thanks.

  2. Since no one else chimed in, I'll start by adding my 2 cents- why not try a DiMarzio Model P (DP-122) PUP?

I use one in my &0's P-bass clone, and it is a very good PUP for the price (abt $70).

    YMMV.

Cheers for the reply. I have Di marzios in a mim pj bass and it does sound good.
For the SQ precision I want to go with vintage pick ups. Thanks.

If you want to be absolutely sure, you can email Fender the serial number and ask for the complete spec-sheet. They got back to me within 24 hours last time I did it.

OH yes thanks, I will email them.
And thanks for the amazon link, that was the same as mine.

  8. The Fender '62 have distinctive beveled poles (not flush). It the poles are flush that is not one for sure.
