This 1971 Fender Mustang Bass is immaculate. The condition is unheard of with only minor play wear, unfaded by the sun. This piece is truly mint for its age and includes its original hang tag (matching serial number) with warranty, case lock keys (unopened), strap, mute, and perhaps even the original strings (I had the bass restrung and setup with flat wounds, so it plays as good as it looks, but what looked like very old strings are in the case just in case they were original). It is 100% original and unmodified. The case has light wear and one of the latches sticks, but is operational. This is a once in a lifetime chance at a perfect vintage Mustang bass. Please feel free to reach out with any questions! Priced a $3,750.00 on Reverb. Bass is located in Los Angeles, CA. Price: WAS $3,500, now $3,350 PP'd and Shipping in the USA included.
I'm a player not a collector, and this is almost like new. This is far too clean for someone like me. I will 100% be replacing this with another competition color Mustang in a little more beat condition. This one sounds incredible, though!
All I can say is that I just picked up a 1975 Mustang Bass, and it is one of the most distinctively nuanced basses that I have ever recorded with. It is not unlike the P Bass of course, but more hollow sounding, less harsh trebly mids, and oh yeah, did I mention--stupid easy to play. This is NOT a toy folks. Don't fool yourself Worth every penny IMHO...GLWTS
Bump. Price drop because something has caught my eye. Just brought this out to play, it's outstanding!
Love these little guys - my '71 blue Mustang is a "secret weapon" bass. It always turns heads, and when I record with it people that hear the resulting tracks invariably ask what bass I was using. Oh, and the competition stripe makes it sound even better. Some one should scoop this one up in a hurry.
Any interest in trading your '71 Mustang for a 2017 Stingray 5 in Power Blue at 9lbs AND a 2016 walnut Rickenbacker weighing 8.15lbs. My Ric cost $2000 and the Ray cost $1600. Btw, how much does your Mustang weigh on an electronic shipping scale? I'm looking for 9lbs or under. Thanks for your consideration.
