Up for sale or trade is my amazing 1971 Fender Precision. This one surpassed a couple of Fodera Ps I owned recently in terms of tone and output! I may end up keeping it but my bass funds are low right now, so I’m digging into what I’d call a keeper. It has a ton of mojo and was owned by its first owner for about 47 years! I got this as my 40th birthday present last year. Pot code # 301-7107 which makes this the 7th week of 1971 build or February 1971. Weight is 9.96lbs on my Rapala Fish Scale, so not light but has some serious slam from the weight! Ships with original case and instruction manual! Price tag is is $5500USD which includes shipping to the United States (Lower 48) or within Canada. Overseas shipping possible at a premium and likely only via Canada Post EMS. I’ve had great success with European and Asian buyers providing me with a shipping label through FedEx recently. Canada has absolutely terrible air shipping rates for overseas! As for trades, mainly interested in 4 or 5 strings from Alleva Coppolo or Olinto. I may look at other brands, but I’m generally more Fender inspired basses. A fretless would be of high interest as well! Enjoy the photos, it’s a beautiful bass! See post #4 below for some more photos as well! {} {} {} {} {} {} {} {} {} {} {} {} {} {} {} {} {} {} {} {}
Yeah, that's what I feel about this bass too! This is natural relic'ing folks...not created on a bench. Even after posting this only over an hour ago, I can already feel the regret! LOL! You know, when you've experienced instruments like I've been able to...you know what the good ones are. Talkbass has provided me with some ridiculous experience of world class second hand basses and my feedback shows it. It's been a blast being on TB for so long....but I'm afraid my days of having a solid presence in the TB classifieds is slowly coming to a close.
Here's some more photos here, note that the foam muting has since been removed: https://www.folkwaymusic.com/museum/electric-guitars/1971-fender-precision-bass
If it was only White !! used a friends bass back in the 70's for all my gigs ! want a remake lol , Nice bass !
One might deduce that something even more important has caught your attention. Killer bass. Never thought I’d see it here. Glwts. And other things.
YES!! I’ve been waiting to see another ‘71 posted. I have a ‘71 too but doesn’t have the original pickguard or pickups. Amazing bass right here.
