Here is a 1973 Fender Telecaster Bass Refinished in a Custom Lake Placid Blue

    DSC00237.jpg

So, what I have is a Mostly Original 1973 Fender Telecaster Bass. The Pick Guard and Thumb Rest are newer, I have a Period Correct bridge in the Period Correct case, (Bad Ass III is hard to beat!) and the body has been refinished in Lake Placid Blue(?). The neck is still in it's original glory. The frets are fine, Truss Rod turns both ways, and she is setup to play Loud and Fast! Serial Number is 351242 (1973). The CTS Pots date to week 22 and week 11 1972 for the Vol - Tone respectively. She tips the scales at 10.5 Lbs

Dang that's nice. I love these basses, even for all the 70's flack they take. I put a Darkstar in my '73 Tele and there is NOTHING like that beast!

Don't mean to hijack but how do you use a thumb rest on that side of the strings? Do you rest your fingers on it while playing with your thumb?

Thanks. I did some searching and found this referred to as a "tug bar". It is usually used as I described - grab it with your fingers as you play with your thumb. Well, these days almost no one plays that way, so it is just there for the vintage look.
