2 PUs available. After a very difficult decision, I’ve begun to reduce gear to one bass, a Precision, so I rotated my best Jazz neck to the P, and I’m parting out the Jazz body. My loss is your gain. 1973 and 1974 Jazz Bass Bridge PUs rewound by Tom Brantley (famous for rewinding Geddy Lee’s PUs). Killer freaking sound and while they would look great on an aged body, they looked great on a fresh/new body as well. For those of you interested in the 70s Jazz Bass sound, these are true collector’s items that sound better than you can possibly imagine. Tom’s process retains as much of the original PU as possible and plain, period correct enamel wire. Purchased both from “The Bass Clef” on Reverb.com a while back. I am not overhyping these PUs. They sound amazing, and you’re going to thank me for selling these. 1973—Bridge—Original plastic cover, new lead wires, reads 7.66K ohms (perfect), date stamp reads 186673 (1973). 1974—Neck—Original plastic cover, original lead wires, reads 6.97K ohms (perfect), date stamp reads 183374 (1974). $250 EACH shipped conus. Offers may be considered.
I also sell on Reverb with lots of feedback as a seller there. Here’s the Jazz body (which is not vintage like the PUs), check it out and the feedback. Fender 74 AVRI Jazz Bass 2013 Black | The Old Owl’s Nest | Reverb
Anyone have any idea what I can expect for a 1973 Fender Jazz Bass, black pre- Geddy Lee? Non original bridge ( Badass II), Duncan pickups, missing chrome pickup covers and white pick guard. It has a lot of road miles but it still plays great! Question #2: Is it worth it to pay $50 for a new pick guard and chrome pickup covers? I am getting it's worth a lot less without the original pickups but the bridge is an upgrade, very solid. It just needs a polish, setup and new strings. I have a new set I can throw in.
